Come one, come all. This is your first chance to register as a participant (solo or as part of a team) in the Healthathon.

Thursday, September 3 12:00pm ET: Kickoff Event

On Thursday, September 3, Healthathon program partners and sponsors provided context on the importance of developing solutions that support people living with Sickle Cell Disease and details about the Healthathon's implementation phase. Speakers included:

• Michael Crawford, MBA, MHL, Associate Dean for Strategy, Outreach, and Innovation, Howard University College of Medicine

• Domenic Caruano, IT Specialist (Systems Administrator), HHS Office of the Chief Information Officer

Monday, September 7 – Friday, September 18: Healthathon Execution Period

During this two-week period, participants in the Healthathon will work on their solutions. Solutioning will happen fairly independently (solo or in teams), but participants can reach out with any questions they may have along the way. We’ll send updates and reminders as the execution period progresses. Before the deadline, participants will share their solution back to the program team—uploading assets or sharing the code, providing a title and short description, and naming themselves (or each team member)—so that entries can be reviewed and prepared for recognition.

• Start: Monday, September 7 at 6:00 a.m. PT (9:00 a.m. ET)
• End: Friday, September 18 at 11:59:59 p.m. PT (3:00 a.m. ET, September 19)

Friday, September 25: Finale Event & Recognition

This live finale event is the capstone to the Healthathon experience. Participants and guests alike will learn about the research used by teams, hear from guest speakers, learn about and celebrate select Healthathon participants and solutions.
